1996 Buick Regal brake lights

My brake lights only come on when they want? The light in the back window always comes on all the turn signals back up lights etc. Turn on on comand. Now the brake lights will turn on about 5% of the time. If I press the emergancy lights on for a min. Brake lights work for a few mins. Or when I click the high beams they will work as well?When the car is off they work soon as I turn the car on they stop?Like I said the brake light in the window turns on every time thou?What could be the problem?

Hello, turn switch or wiring circuit. I believe the lower brake lites and turn signals use the same bulb filament, just not at the the same time. The high-mount brake lite isn't wired through the turn switch.
