1996 Buick Regal auto theft?

1996 Buick Regal Automatic 56000 miles

When I turn the key, nothing. No sound, the lights, radio, etc all work. Could it be the anti theft? How can I disengage it? I recently bought the car for my mom to get to work and now I can't get it going. The station ran all other checks and everything is good. Please help

Does the security or theft light come on when you turn the key?

I researched this and found the way to bypass the ignition. I followed the instructions and was able to get the key decoded at Radio shack and in turn was able to bypass the ignition. Ran beautifully, and then 1 week later, my parked car was totaled by an irresponsible driver. Thank you for your assistance
