Most of the time, the car runs great.I just came back from a 900 mile trip. Sometimes, as it is first being driven, it stalls and is very difficult to start. The fuel pressure is about 38 lbs. At the rail with an unrestricted fuel filter. I replaced the tps switch, no codes come up, plugs/wires good and unplugging the egr valve "wire" did not help. Lately, I have been able to restart it quickly by spraying starting fluid in the air horn. As the temperature drops in the teens, it stalls within 1 block of the house. Noone will drive the car anymore but me and I am getting tired of it. When it does restart, it will run fine. I have "tapped" everything to death in the "no start" mode to no avail. Could it be the fuel pressure regulator valve?

Check for a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or vacuum hoses.
Somebody may jump in to help you too.

Temperature sensors are either variable-resistance sensors or on-off-switch sensors.
Temperatur-to-electricity sensor can mesure either engine coolant, air, or surface temperatur as needed.
Base on input from the temperatur sensors, the computer can adjust air-and fuel mixture or dump air into the exhaust system to prevent overheating of the catalytic converter.
Now back to the question if the problem could be the temperature sensor.
Check the fuel injection system, and still check for a vacuum leak too.
