2001 Buick Park Avenue Engine knock

On lite acceleration loud! Knock.
on accel in 4th od no noise
sounds like a rod or main but, car was driven 2300 miles on the road at speeds of 70-80 mph.
Engine was wot many times to 5600 rpm.
no metal in oil.
Checked fly w for cracks'
checked for loose bolts
checked converter bolts
Noise is load sensitive

Check the harmonic balancer. Is this a 3.8 l? They went through them for some reason. If it is the problem, I suggest a new OEM crank angle sensor while you are in there, it is behind the balancer

Forgot to mention we changed the harmonic balancer.

Were you able to see the center of the flexplate? Sometimes they break there and will make load sensitive noise. Sure sounds like it if there is no metal in the oil. Good oil pressure?
