Transmission problem
1998 Buick Park Avenue V8 All Wheel Drive Automatic 199.00 miles

just bought a 1998 park avenue ultra with the supercharged engine 199.000 miles I know its going to have problems but it just purrs no leaks no smoke however it does not sound like it is changing gears was very low on fluid out some in ran great 20 min or so then started it again it sounds like its a high winding kinda sound but engine is quiet what can I check

By any chance, did the fluid leak out again? Also, do you hear the noise from the trans or the engine reving when it doesn't shift? Finally, has the check engine light come on?

Check engine light is on and no leaks car is quiet but sounds like its gonna blow up trying to climb up inclines just winds out dont hear any gears shifting

First, have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Most parts stores will do it for free. Also, it sounds like the trans is slipping. If the trans fluid is full and clean, I need to wait to hear what codes show up to make a determination.

Have that done and let me know what you find.
