My temp. Hand went backward an now it is stuck what I need to do to get it go the write way

Hi:
If you disconnect the temp sending unit, does the gauge go to normal? If so, replace the sending unit.

Let me know what you find.

What I did I toke out the dash an turn the hand back around an put it back in an now it is working fine
