1996 Buick Park Avenue Check Engine Light

The check engine light came on. I turned everything off and unplugged the cable from the battery. When I plug it back into the battery and turn the car on, the AC automatically turns on, even though it was turned off before I turned the car off.

A/c came on because you disconnected battery.

When the engine light comes on it means there are trouble code(s) stored on the computer, do not try to reset these codes until you first retrieve them. If you have the codes I can help troubleshoot the issue. If you deleted it then will have to wait for the engine light to come back on.
