Noises problem
1997 Buick Lesabre 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 136 K miles

HAVE INTERMITTANT ROARING NOISE. USUALLY ON HILLS, CAN FEEL IN GAS PEDAL, NO LOSS OF POWER, MECHANIC #1 REPLACED AXLE, AND BUSHING, NO LUCK. MECHANIC #2 NEVER HEARD NOISE, DROVE QUITE A FEW MILES. WE HAVE WEEKS THAT WE DON'T HEAR IT, THEN IT STARTS UP AGAIN. I THINK IT IS IN RT FRONT, AND IT'S NOT EAR-SPLITTING, BUT PLENTY LOUD.
HAVE TALKED TO MANY CAR-SMART PEOPLE, BUT THEY HAVE NO IDEA. I'M COUNTING ON YOU! MANY THANKS, BARBARA HORTON

With 136,000 miles I suggest removing the serpentine belt and checking ALL spinable pulleys, A/C, Aternator, Tensioner, Idler, Water pump. Bearings in these wear out at about your mileage. The one at the A/c compressor can run quiet for a while and then make a racket, but it will get worse.
