Dies will not stay running

91 buick century 100,000 miles 3.3 v6 started runing rough replaced coil pacs, plugs. Plug#6 black rest looked good. Ran better but still rough. Checked #6 geting spark but on change in idle when wire removed. Now will start but must have it floored. Black smoke poors out and backfires. No check engine light check for codes got none

Check your fuel injectors. I've replaced two of mine already and it's a common problem on the 3.3's. You can unplug one at a time and check the resistance which should be around 12ohms. Anything higher could be causing the problem. Check the #6 injector first. The backfiring could be related to a timing problem which is a whole different issue but check the injectors first is what I would do.
