96 Century Custom starts but dies

I can start the car fine, but when I try to put it into gear the engine shudders and dies. All the electrical components work. My transmission is a little rusty, and my battery is from 2004. If you have any idea's please let me know. Thank you.

Check engine light is it On?

Last major tune -up?

Get this checked out-Idle air control valve, throttle position and intake air temperature sensors to include the oxygen sensor/s and then comeback.
