I got in my car yesterday am to go to work. Alls fine until I come to the stop sign and my brakes make like clunking sound and then the anti lock light comes on. I am single woman and dont want to get hosed if I go to the repair shop. Any suggestions first? Could this be caused by low brake fluid? Master cylinder? Please help. thanks.

This could be a few things it is hard to tell. However it could be a wheel speed sensor (hub replacement) it could be the anti lock controller (buy a wrecking yard one), It could be master cyl. How do the brakes feel? Do they feel fairly normal?

The brakes feel okay otherwise. If I stop the car and turn it off the light goes out but then if I have to brake hard at all then the clunk sounds and the light comes back on.
