1989 Buick Century Engine hesitation

At constant highway speed the engine hesitates which causes the car to jolt fairly violently. It has plenty of acceleration and Idles perfectly. I have changed the plugs, wires and fuel filter but the car still does the same thing. It also has a bad oder coming from the vents. Please help.
