Brake pedal stays down

After driving 20 miles and parking the car for an hour. On returning to the car and driving off and then braking the brake pedal stays down, brakes are on. Putting my foot under the pedal and pulling it up the brakes are released. The problem only rectifies itself when the car has cooled down. On a hot day this can take 2 hours on a cool day less. The problem seems to be related to heat.

That could bad a bad Master cylinder or brake booster. Someone is going to have to investigate further to narrow it down.

Thank you. I know what a master cylinder is. I don't know what a break booster is.

Thanks for the advice. I think that the labour charge alone would be more then what the car is worth.
