Bottom cover of the engine

I noticed that there is no bottom cover plate of front section of the engine. Is that the case for my car? or am I missing the cover plate?

Also, how important is it to the car?

they are there to protect engine parts from getting wet/muddy especially like the belts so they do not get premature wear. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
