Several times a week, my BMW resets the time, trip mileage, andmpg to --:--, and resets the date to a wrong date. The dealer, when called, says that it is because I don't put enough mileage on my vehicle, and that it cuts the power. I think it is a software problem~!

Oddly enough, if they threw the old "exhaustive battery drain" or "driving profile" excuse, it aint far from fact. They are supposed to do that, if the car gets driven for only short periods of time and or it sits for extended periods. I do however agree that some memory should be non-volatile, how much power does it take to run a clock anyway?
