I purchased a used M3 convertible. Occassionally, when I lowered the top it would not "seat" appropriately. I would raise the top 4 - 5" and retry and it would seat. I was out of the country for two months, when I returned and attempted to lower the top, I heard a loud noise (like metal dropping). I raised the top without incident. The next time I attempted to lower the top, it would only retract 1/2 of the way. How much do you believe this will cost to repair? Also, the top leaks and I'm told the seal is missing. What is the cost to repair this issue?
thanks

As much as I would like to quote a repair price, it would first require a visual inspection at the very least. It is possible the top will require removal to complete the repairs, if there is something structural that has been compromised. If you could send some photographs it might help.
