2002 BMW 745

My check engine light came on and then, I noticed I had a leak of some kind from underneath. It's slightly greasy and green in color so I'm thinking it's anti feeze. My question is would an anti-freeze leak cause the check engine light to come on? Or could there be two problems going on under there.

Several issues may be conspiring here, an `02 745 can be an expensive car for coolant leaks and check engine lights. Be sure you deal with a BMW knowledgeable repair facility, these cars can be real money pits in the wrong hands.
