2000 BMW 528 on start up

On start up of my car is sounds terrible shakes and just sounds awful but when its warmed up the car drives no problem, the management light comes on then it goes off sometimes

I would need more data to make a diagnosis. It may be something simple, and the check engine light will require scanning the car with the proprietary BMW software (or reasonable facsimile) to determine the reason for it being on.
