How do you reset the factory alarm system if the initializing of a new key transmitter fails?

I followed the directions of the owner's manual; I pointed the factory key toward the transmitter, held button #3 while depressing button #1 three times after performing the ignition position functions.

The factory alarm for the E34 cars was not in the key, but in a remote fob. That initialization procedure should be to disconnect the alarm module for 30 seconds. If no joy, call John at Autobahn dismantling, (619)444-2290 He will guide you.
