My bmw 2002 325i does not seem to want to start. It is cranking over well thus it is not the battery. The car has been sitting for fairly long periods of time between use over the last several years. It was last started 2 weeks ago with no problem but was not driven, just started and let run for half an hour. Now it just cranks but will not fire. I am thinking it may be the fuel pump but I have not done any testing whatsoever. The last time I drove it on October 31 the speedometer stopped working but the car was running well so I am assuming there is not relation to the current problem.

Do you have any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

I agree with the assessment of the fuel pump failure. Try spraying some brake clean or throttle body cleaner in the intake and see if it starts. If yes then the pump is under the rear seat on the right side of the car and Realoem. Com will have your pump.
