Hey name's Curtis
I have a '92 BMW 4dr 325i, The problem is in the driver side seat motor. It stop working and I check the fuse and did the trouble shooting and its come to be I have a bad motor. I would simple change it if it was not in the rear most position. The rear nuts are blocked off by the track and can't be reached. I wanted to know if there was a release or something of the sort. I would try powering the motor directly and see if there is some movement there because sometimes a switch issue can show the same symptoms. If the motor is totally dead there is little chance of getting the seat out of the car. See if there is something jammed in the track. The seat base actuators are fairly robust and a failure is uncommon.
