2000 BMW 323 Sunroof stuck

Hi Please help my sunroof on my BMW is open and won't close. When I tried to close it smoke started to appear from where the button is and there was a burning smell. Now it is stuck open and it won't even shut manually using the alan key as suggested in the manual.

You may have to remove the panel just behind the interior lights to access the sunroof motor. You may also need a new motor or a sunroof cassette. If you cannot get it to close with the Allen wrench then there are few options, replacement of the cassette may be required.
