I got the alternator for my car replaced by my mechanic and now my car's security system is turned on. My mechanic says that I have to to take the car to Cadillac dealer to get body control module reprogrammed or something. But I am not sure if he is telling the truth or not.

See if the method as shown in the picture will turn off the anti theft system.
