I did not get any red flags, just all of sudden my car did not start yesterday afternoon. I made an hour drive on that morning, and it was all fine. So, I called for jumpstart help and easily started my car with his jumpstart kit and asked me to drive for 20 minutes to charge the battery which I did and came back home. I turned off the engine and tried turning it on immediately after that, but it would not start. What could be wrong?

Hi,

It could be a couple of things. The battery may have failed, or the alternator isn't charging it.

Here is what I need you to do. I need you to check the alternator output. You will need to check the battery two times, once with the engine off and once with it running. So, you will need to jump-start it to do this.

Follow the directions in this link and let me know the results. All you need is a voltmeter or a multimeter.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,
