When driving the car when the engine is still cold, it sometimes goes in to "limited gear box" or total loss of any gears at all. If I turn off the engine and the restart it will, go back to normal, or on the odd time may happen a second time. This problem only happens when the engine is not warmed up, and is fine and work perfect, when warm. Any ideas?

More than likely we have some faults in the system that will point us in the best direction. What is happening is the control module is seeing an issue that causes it to put itself into protection mode so that significant damage is not done.

Let's start with seeing what codes are in the system and go from there. This could be as easy as a sensor issue or more complicated like a valve body or control module issue.

Also it would be a good idea to check the fluid to make sure the fluid is not low or in poor condition.
