I have noticed that the transmission has problems shifting. It shifts hard and at random from what it seems like. The last time I drove it, it would not go past what seemed to be 2nd gear. I was at about 40 MPH with the RPMs at 4,000. Sometimes it seems as though it does not catch the next gear and it slips, acting as if I put it in neutral and it revs up without going forward for a few seconds. I have a Service Engine Soon light and I got a Code 11 - Transaxle problems.

Transmission fluid and filter were replaced and the problem still occurs. The previous oil was a darker red, not black.

Hello, I'm Danny.

Unfortunately, There is no code info for DTC 11. This just means the PCM - powertrain control module has set a transaxle code that will need to be retrieved. A professional or dealer grade scanner will be needed to unlock the DTC 11 transaxle code. After you have this done provide us with the transaxle code and we will provide you with the necessary repair information. I've attached a picture below. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
