Audi recommends changing the timing belt on my 2004 A6 Avant at 70k miles. I have not done this and now have 96k miles on the car. The warranty is in effect until 100k, (the timing belt will not be covered under warranty) so I have been having serv ice and repairs done by an Audi dealer. I want to get the timing belt replaced and the dealer has quoted me $1300. I think I can get it cheaper at some other shop. Do you think it would be OK to look for another repair shop with German car expertise?
