Just acquired this car from a friend.
I used the ashtray, and then tried to empty it. I tried for over a half hour and could not remove the insert tray. This was after I read the manual! My friend does not smoke, so he has no idea. Please help, as I do not want old butts lingering in the ashtray for other people to smell.

You could always use a shop vacuum cleaner to suck them out if you do not want to remove it. We do not have information for that anyhow. Normally you push down on the x type piece of metal an dash. Some you have to pull down on them.

Thanks for trying, but I already know that I will probably have to vacuum them out, (which sucks!).
Just wanted to find out how to empty it normally.
Why can't this be simple, as it is only an ashtray?
Thanks again for your efforts.

Sorry we don't have information on that but I think it is the only ash tray in the car. There should be some kind of clip you push to release the tray it is usually near the top of the tray inside. Push down and then pull out.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
