I was driving down the highway. The car started to cut out and then quit running. I pulled over but it would not restart. I had it towed the next day. Since then I have replaced the fuel pump which you can hear click when key is turned on. But there is still no fuel pressure getting to the engine. It is displaying a code for the immobilization feature and the fuel temperature sensor. The immobilization will cause it to not start, which it wont, and no one can give me a way to reset the system. I don't have a key fob. Only 2 chipped keys. One for the door and one for the ignition. It will crank but not start. We have unhooked the battery and tried just to keep it running but it still just cranking over then shutting off. Fuel pump relay? Anti theft system? CPS? ECU? The only code its throwing out is the immobilization. And I don't know how to disable that.

It didn't give instructions specifically for Kia. And I tried the generic ones that done involve a key fob. Because I don't have one. The car symbol with the key inside it is still on on my instrument panel when the key is in the "on" position. Car still turns over but will not start. Also I had just under 1/2 tank of gas when it stopped running. I had it towed to my husbands house and he has worked on it and I have been trying to start it but now the low fuel light is on. Where did almost 1/2 tank of gas go when it wont even start? Changing the fuel pump shouldn't have caused that much gas to drain out should it?

Hello again.

No, normally not much fuel should be lost. Who swapped the fuel pump out? I understand gas is siphoned out to make the gas tank lighter for removal but then should be put back in when repair is completed. As far as the immobilizer system since our tutorial didn't work you will have to use a professional scan tool to reset the system. I've attached pictures below describing the procedure. Hope this helps and let us know if you have any further questions on this issue. Keep us updated. Thanks again for using 2CarPros.
