I have heard that using dashboard spray cleaners and tire spray cleaners can destroy the tires and dash. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

There has been a lot of discussion on this matter but I can shed some light. About a month ago I put a new set of Cooper tires on my wifes Honda accord. I had the car washed twice and they put on the tire mess. It melted the outwall of the tires and they started to come off on the side of the car. $300.00 later I had a new set of tires

I clean my tires with car soap including the big Michleins on my RV.

Some GM car manuals direct that no cleaner or additive be used.

I go to the dealer and buy a can of their dash cleaner. It smells different, a bit more expensibve but it doesn't damage the dash.

Hope this helps
