I have a 98 Lumina with a 3.1L and 120000 miles. I have a warning light on my instrument panel that says security. This light keeps coming on while I'm driving every once in a while. Does anyone have any idea what this light is for and why it keeps coming on while I'm driving. The car is runnig fine. I don't have an owner's manuel and the repair manuel for this car doesn't mention a security light. By the way. It is not a warning light for a car alarm. This car doesn't have an alarm. Thanks.

I have a 99 lumina and it does the same thing sometimes. According to the manual, it has something to do with the Passkey, the little chip that is in your ingnition key. I guess it looses it signal or something. But on mine it will go off when the car is turned off.
