Hi,

Wee problem with my 1.6 seat leon reference JAN 07.
When I start engine it stutters between 1000 and 500 rpm for a few seconds and a puff of blue smoke appears from the tail pipe when I press the excellerator to attempt and stableise revs, up untill now this action resolves the the situation at the time and the motor runs great after that for long and short journeys.
The problem does not happen on every engine start up but mainly if the car has been parked overnight.

Could you possibly advise on problem.

It sounds like the valve stem seals are bad. When you turn off the engine, oil can run down the valve stem and past the bad seal. If the valve is closed for that cylinder you probably will not have the stutter in the engine on start up. If the valve is open then the oil can run into the cylinder and foul the end of the spark plug until you blow it clean reving the engine.
