2005 Questions for all other cars 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual
----------------------------------------------------------------
Hi , my carb has these problems , it can't be tuned a mechanic told me the CO reading is adnormal and can't be adjusted . It seems like there's a problem with air intake , the car "surge" back and forth at lower gear when the air conditioner fan is on (i guess) , The rpm pointer goes up and down , fuel consumption is high .
So I would like to know what could be the real culprit .

Thanks for answering my question .

Hi gmttmg,

You should rebuild the carburettor. There is a worn/leaking O ring inside the carb for the idling circuit and it is preventing the CO to be adjusted correctly.

Hi gmttmg,

Proton has been using this carb for the past 17 or 18 years but the funny thing is not many mechanics knows how to service it.

Easiest thing is to ask at some parts outllets for recommendations on who can do the job. Try big outlets.

I am from JB, if you can't gey it done, let me know.
