Hi,

My wifes 04' Grand Am is acting oddly.

On a recent trip after about 2hrs of driving the car just lossed power. It didn't die, the engine was still running you just could'nt accelerate or maintain speed. After stopping the car idled but you couldn't rev the engine it would kind of stutter.

After sitting with the car turned off for about 20min. The car started and drove normally. After about a week of driving back and forth to work (about 15miles round trip) it did it again. This time when restarted, it worked for about half a mile then did it again.

Took it to the shop but they couldn't get it to repeat the problem and it was not displaying any trouble codes. (and the fuel pressure was normal)

When I got the car back I made it about 10miles and it did it again. This time I noticed the engine though still running seemed to be struggling to maintain Idle.
You could rev the engine and it seemed like it would hit a rev limiter at about 4000rpm, well below redline.
If you tried to drive it would start to rev then drop off to idle and eventually die.

Do we Shoot it???

Thanks,
Max Parker
