4 weeks ago stuck in traffic, car would not shift out of 1st gear. Let car sit, restarted it, worked fine. Had it checked for codes/leaks, none found. This week again stuck in traffic and car would not shift out of 1st gear. Let car sit, restarted and worked fine. Checked it for codes, speed senses, and pressure check. Everything okay. This seems to happen when car is driven for a period of time, hot, and stuck in traffic. Can you help?

Sounds like the trans has an intermittent signal, possibly the VSS. Does the speedo work when it wont shift?

Thanks for the advice have changed VSS. Will let you know if it works. Will try to drive car under same conditions for the next week or two. Thanks Tom
