MY TACOMA IS IDLING HIGH AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. PUT IT ON THE COMPUTER AND GET THE CODE P0505 IDLE CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. WHAT COULD CAUSE THIS MALFUNCTION? IS IT THE IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE?

Theres a few reason u can set a code and idle high as follow:
1.) Losing power or ground or both
2.) Devices mechanically stucked
3.) Vac /hoses leaks or lose
4.) ECM
way to test is is using a toyota scanner - master tech and bidirectional open or close thru the scanner and watch the value related to rpm.
