I have 2 questions:
1.
I was just wondering, do I ever need to change transmission gear oil on a manual tranny?

2.
I have a problem with my speedometer cable. My old one broke and I bought a new one. This didn't help. I returned it, bought another from a another store, still speedo doesn't work. I then bought one from a dealer but still no good. I realized it must be something else and am almost sure the problem is the socket (or whatever it's called) where the cable connects to the tranny case. I can feel it doesn't connect well. How can I fix this?

Yoy may need to replace the drive gear assy that attachs to the trans case. I think the nut that holds it in to the transmission case accepts a 10 mm wrench. I would check parts stores and if they don't have it you will have to go to the dealer.
