My 1991 Ranger has a 4.0L in it with 178,000 miles on it. I am looking to buy a new engine to rebuild and throw in it and want to stay as stock as possible(4.0L) but want more power and was thinking about the new OHC 4.0L would it work without changing too much computers and what would I need to do to put one in. Thanks

Rebuild the engine it the truck. After that many miles you will find the truck fresh and powerful again. Just my two cents worth. I am conservative though but that should give you plenty for the truck.

I agree, stick with what you've already got. If you want some more power, maybe add a K&N filter or upgrade the exhaust. These will also help your fuel mileage.
