So Car was sputtering and backfiring and dieing unless I kept my foot on the pedal a tad, i've replaced the fuel filter, the plugs and wires, and then I replaced the intake air control valve(moderately covered in carbon when I replaced it) and it ran beautifully for a night until the next day when it stalled in town(put fuel in it just to remove that possibility)

Even after I replaced the IAC(engine light turne don intermittently and this was the code given) the car wouldn't run steady, whether driving or idling the motor would speed up and slow down

After its death the latest time the starter turns but the motor doesn't seem to get fuel, I got it to run a couple times but just barely and the second I touch the gas pedal it cuts out

at the moment judging by previous posts i'm thinking its fuel pump, good place to start or does anyone have any other ideas

Edit:If it helps when its sputtering and such it makes almost a popping noise in the engine until it balances out and the timing belt was recently replaced as well

At the moment the computer carries no error codes

Try cleaning out the trottle body with cleaneryou say it ran ok when you changed the air intake contol, for a day, there could have been a buildup of carbon that got loose and causing the problem.
