1994 Acura Vigor Front Wheel Drive Automatic 240000 miles

What are the differant causes of a code 4, ( angle position sensor) on this 5 cyl. Engine? I'm thinking of replacing roter, cap and plug wires. Car runs fine. Could code still be on from when I ran thru a puddle and engine lite came on? How can I reset it? I've driven about 300 miles and code is still there. Also disco'd bat. For 1 hour. Angle of distributor/position sensor can't be changed on this engine, so I assume cose may be for rotor/cap getting worn? What else?
