2002 Acura TL windshield wipers slapping

A little while ago we noticed that the windshield wipers were making a lot of noise. They are now slapping against the lower stop and going off the window on the top. In other words they are moving over a larger arc than they used to. Is there an adjustment somewhere that can be done to bring this back to where they used to be?

Hello

I had the same problem in my 1999 model. There are a few linkage connecting rods between the wiper motor and the wipers. One or more of those rod end plastic bushings are worn. You would have to find and replace the whole rod. To gain acess you will have to remove both wipers and then remove the whole black plastic vent cover beneath them. Just move the rods with your hand to until you find the bad one. Good luck!
