I have a turbo gsr motor (boosted) and went through some flood water, the car died and wouldn't start for a while, then it started, it ran but really bogged down and wouldn't do much past 4000 rpm. I got it home, it drove about 4 miles, and checked my dipstick and it has some water in it, also it looks like milk under the oil cap. What do I do now?

Hi artisteve,

Not a good sign. If the idling is running badly with some abnormal knocking noise, most probably 1 or more of the con rods are bent.

Check the compression to find out.

If the compression is ok, check for water in the distributor and plug wires and dry them.

Start engine and if it runs fine, replace the engine oil and all should be well. There will be some water moisture left in the engine so it will take some time for them to be expelled out via the ventilation system.

Good luck.
