Air Conditioning problem
1992 Acura Integra 4 cyl Manual 153000 miles

1992 acura integra, 4 door---I think it is the clutch of the compressor that has come loose. Is there any way you can bolt it back on without having to get the whole compressor? It rattles so bad because it is so loose. Had to put it back on till I know what to do. I don't have alot of money for this. So I need help as to what I can do? Thankyou

Hi mkroeger,

If the clutch pulley is faulty, it could be the bearing or the compressor shaft. You might need to replace the compressor assy.

Disable it by removing the compressor belt. You would be able to prevent any other damage.

Thankyou for your answer. Did cut the compressor belt. Was told that the compressor is ok. I do need a new clutch. Just don't know about a small shaft that could be damaged and then I would need the whole thing. Things could be worse. This is just the air conditioner that I need living here in Texas!

If the bearing is not seized, there shoould be no other damage except a burnt clutch coil and worn clutch hub.

You would need to remove the clutch assy to know the amount of damage.
