Hi,

My A/C compressor runs with the heat on in all modes, when it is raining. Other than that it only runs in defrost, like it should.

Good afternoon,

Do you have automatic climate control or manual control AC?

The automatic will always activate the AC compressor for humidity control.

The manual should only work on defrost mode.

Okay, there is a module under the hood called a totally integrated power module. It controls all body functions including the AC controls. The control head you use to command sends a signal to this module and based on that input, it turns the compressor on and off.

This module is a common failure. With the age of your Jeep, I would question if it is covered under warranty.

You need to have that rechecked to see if it has the proper programming in it. The wrong program will cause this.

You are welcome.

Looks like it may be programmed for the automatic climate control system.

Come to think of it, I didn't have this issue until it was replaced. Thanks again!
