A/C compressor does not cycle on and off

I hear my compressor turn on when I turn the A/C on, but that is all I hear. It does not cycle from on and off like normal. I thought it needed a charge and went to charge like normal but it is not accepting family refrigerate at all. What could this be?

You need to vacuum down the system and make sure that it is holding a vacuum. If that is okay, you should be able to charge the system through the low pressure port with the correct weight of refrigerant. If your system is not holding a vacuum, you need to do a leak test and repair fault as required.
