So, recently I noticed that the floor on the driver's side where your feet rest is soaked. I can't find, or feel where it is coming from, but carpet all around it is dry, just 2 spots almost perfect with feet resting on the floor. I also noticed the car has been dripping a lot of water/condensation. At first, I was not concerned, but it has been getting to be a bigger and bigger spot on the driveway. It appeared to be coming from a drain on the passenger side on the firewall, I tried to take a picture of that. I would like to know where to start with this. I also would like to know if it is related. Only wetness is on the driver's side opposite of where this is. I also have already looked under the car to see if there were any rust spots and there are no rust holes below the floorboard. Thanks

Hi,

When you say there is condensation under the vehicle, is it water? Are you using the AC system at this time?

I ask because it could be a couple of things. First, the A/C evaporator core is under the dash and produces condensation. The unit is designed with a drain tube (passenger side, under the hood on the passenger side) that allows the water to drain out. So, if that is plugged, you could get water from the evaporator core. Inside the vehicle However, that doesn't explain what you are seeing outside.

Next, the heater core is also mounted under the dash. If there is a leak in the heater core, you could get coolant leaking into the vehicle. Check to make sure the coolant level isn't low first. Also, coolant has a sweet smell to it, so see if you notice that.

Let me know as much as you can.

Take care,

joe

It's not coolant. I've had heater cores go out and so I do know what that is. The drain I try to get a picture of it below the heater core and slightly to the left. We are not running the AC right now. Ask there before it started off looking as if it was A/C running but this puddle has been getting larger and larger. As of the last couple times my wife is used a car, you can walk outside an hour or two later and it would still be draining water. So, the water is obviously coming out of that drain, so I can't picture it being plugged in any way but the water inside the driver side is what's confusing me. Today I plan on keeping the car home with me and running a fan in there and trying to dry out the car really good and see what happens when I pick up my wife from work. It has rained a couple times this week and I notice the sagginess on the floor only this week. So that's why I don't know if it's unrelated. I was trying to figure something is over working and getting hot because it's cooler this time of year where I live so I never had a vehicle just have all this condensation as if the A/C has been running. My wife gets cold easily, so I guarantee that A/C hasn't been on

Hi,

If you had a lot of rain, there is a chance it is coming in around the windshield. Also, does the vehicle have a sunroof?

If the water is still draining an hour or two after it is turned off, we should be able to figure it out. Even if the A/C was run, that wouldn't last that long. I know if you are using the defroster, which will engage the A/C system to help dehumidify the air coming into the vehicle.

Let me know.
