Hi,

The HVAC blower motor doesn't use a relay. Instead, there is a blower motor control module.

If you look at the pic below, I highlighted the module. This component takes the place of the relay and blower motor resistor.

I'm not sure if it isn't working at all, but I attached the diagnostics related to a malfunctioning blower motor. Take a look through them and let me know if they help.

Take care,

Joe

The fan wouldn't shut off, so we pulled out the fuse. We went to Auto Zone and he sold us a relay but we couldn't figure out where it went. Apparently this is why, it's not the part we needed. We are novices at this, trying to save some money and not take it to our mechanic. Is this relatively easy to install? Do you have a diagram? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the response. I sent a follow up question yesterday but now I don't see it, so I'll try again.

The fan would not turn off, even with the car off, so we took out the fuse. AutoZone sold us a relay, saying that 98% of the time that is the problem. Apparently, he didn't know what he was talking about. Your answer explains why we couldn't where to install this. We are novices at this, hoping to save a trip to the mechanic. Do you have installation instructions so we can see if this is something we can do? Thanks.

Hi,

I attached the directions below for replacing the blower motor control module. It is really easy to do. There are two screws that hold it in place and an electrical connector to disconnect.

Also, I added the last picture so you can see the OEM part number.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
