Every now and then when I speed up fast and shift quickly my engine lights come on and this is the code that my reader gives me. My indicator on the dash will not tell me what gear I'm in and I have noticed that if I try to drive away on an incline the rollback prevention does not work.

Any insight into what it may be?

The "$7E8" is not an OBD-II trouble code but rather a generic identifier used by some code readers or scan tools to indicate that additional information is available. The actual trouble code related to the issue with your 2020 Chevrolet Camaro is "P0729." You mentioned that your vehicle is a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro with a manual transmission, and the trouble code is P0729. However, P0729 is specifically related to the Transmission Output Speed Sensor Circuit, which is typically associated with automatic transmissions.

For a manual transmission vehicle, the P0729 code may not be applicable, and the symptoms you described might be caused by a different issue. In manual transmissions, there is no output speed sensor since the gears are manually engaged by the driver. Can you please clear the codes and drive it again, it might be a glitch are the PCM needs to be updated.
