I was driving along & lost power car running but slows to a stop . I shut the car off &try to restart it has a fast turn over but won't start. I wait a few minutes & turn it back on it starts seems ok for 5 days & then it happens again with in 45 miniutes 2 times. & I called a dealer in wooster & they have to put the computer on it to find the problem. its $114.00 dollars plus tax. then what ever to fix it. I see where this has happened in several mercury's & wonder why its happened for 6 or more years & yet still having a problem with out recalling this problem. What can I expect after this diagnostic testing & at what kind of a cost They told me there are electrical wires that may be causing this to the gas pedal.

We can't tell you what may have been wrong when this happened. All I can do is give you the diagnostic procedures to use when the problem occurs.
PS: There will never be a recall for a problem like this. They are only made for safety or emissions reasons.
