2009 BMW 328 engine stuttering?

I have a 2009 328I with 50,000 miles while driving at a speed around 35 mph when I stepped on the gas the car seemed to stutter(my wife says it vibrated real bad)as I stepped on the gas you could feel it stuttering and vibrating also the check engine soon light came on. I pulled off the road and turned the car off. I then turned it back on and it seemed to be fine the light did not come back on and the stuttering was gone. Any ideas?

You'll need to have your vehicle scanned for codes. Most auto parts suppliers will do this for free. This will give you a starting point as to why your vehicle is behaving the way it is.
A common failure on these engines is the ignition coil resulting in a misfire.
So, until we know why the check engine light came on I can't really steer you in the right direction because there is quite a lot of components that can cause this
